China nu a renunțat la avorturile forțate: unei femei însărcinate în luna a șasea i s-a făcut avort cu forța

Shandong Province, Zibo City, October 24, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The first week of October should be the happiest time for Chinese citizens, a celebratory holiday marking the anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.  But for Qiao Ping’an and his wife Song, the week was marred by an injustice that led to a double tragedy—a mental breakdown and a death.

According to several reports on Chinese language news sites, which were picked up by the human rights organization All Girls Allowed, on October 2, Song was alone in her home in Zibo City (Gaoqing County, Heilizhai Town, Qiaojia Village) while her family was out in the field bringing in the fall harvest.  A mother of two girls and nearly 6-months pregnant with their third child, Song had no reason to believe that she was in any danger.  After all, she had heard nothing from the Family Planning Police about her pregnancy, and it was a national holiday, when no government officials would be working.  Yet, at 5 pm, seven Family Planning officials reportedly arrived at her home, took her by force into a vehicle and drove her 100 kilometers away to Dongying Universal Love Women’s Hospital.

According to the reports, at the hospital, the officials violently tied Song down, confiscated her cell phone and stripped all of her clothes off.  Because she was so resistant, they forcibly injected her with a sedative, then pressed her finger to sign the voluntary abortion consent form. They forcibly injected a needle into her womb with a poison to kill the baby and to induce labor.  After this, they left her naked on the hospital bed and locked her in.

Song’s family was not notified of her whereabouts, and so only arrived at 11 pm. after it was too late.  While they sought justice at the local police station, they were forced to return to their home while Song remained at the hospital.

On the evening of October 5th, Song gave birth to a dead baby.  However, the loss of the baby was not all—Song herself reportedly suffered a mental breakdown from the trauma of her experience.  As a result, she is in a trance-like state of shock and cannot take care of herself.  Her seven-year-old daughter cries every day, asking what has happened to her mother.  Family Planning officials continue to monitor Song and her family around the clock.  There has been no official public apology and no compensation; instead, it has been reported that the Heilizhai Town Family Planning officials immediately sought aid from more senior officials in Gaoqing County to cover up the story. 

This violent forced abortion is the first to surface in China after the National Family Planning Committee ordered officials on July 19th to “absolutely stop late-term abortions” and to “guide people to do family planning voluntarily”.  Since then, 23 of China’s 31 provinces (representing 87.52% of China’s population) have also banned late-term abortions on their official Family Planning websites, including Shandong Province.  Chen Guangcheng, the courageous blind forced abortion activist who made headlines when he escaped house arrest in May, lived in the same province of Shandong.

All Girls Allowed, which works to oppose China’s one-child policy, condemned the forced abortion and called for immediate accountability and justice for Song and her family. 

“These horrific acts of violence against innocents must come to the light and the Chinese government must honor its word when it resolutely calls for a ban on late-term forced abortions,” said Brian Lee, Executive of All Girls Allowed, in a press release. “As the scriptures say, ‘The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion.  Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generations.’ (Numbers 14:18)  Join us as we pray for Jesus to stretch out his arms—one arm of love and healing to Song and her family, the other arm of wrath and justice against the perpetrators.”

Un preot ortodox a salvat 2000 de bebeluşi de la moarte

Părintele Alexis Tarasov din Volvograd a început prin convingerea femeilor din parohia sa care voiau să avorteze, să nu facă această crimă. Apoi a elaborat un program de ajutor şi suport psihologic pentru femeile însărcinate.

Acum este directorul Centrului pentru Apărarea Maternităţii şi Copilăriei din cadrul Societăţii Medicilor Ortodocşi „Arhanghelul Rafael” din oraşul Voljsk. Tocmai a fost recompensat cu premiul de excelenţă pentru salvarea vieţii de către Congresul Mondial al Familiilor. Datorită muncii sale neobosite, nivelul avorturilor din regiunea sa a scăzut drastic. Ministrul Sănătăţii din Federaţia Rusă a subliniat lucrarea acestui părinte. În 5 ani, regiunea Volvograd a cunoscut o scădere cu 25% a avorturilor la cerere.

Părintele Alexis a început cu predică la Biserică şi prin vizite repretate la spitalele care practică uciderea intra-uterină. A discutat ore întregi cu femeile însărcinate. „Eu însumi am 5 copii. Copiii sunt darul lui Dumnezeu şi refuzând acest dar stârnim mânia Celui Preaînalt. Vom răspunde în faţa lui Dumnezeu pentru sufletele copiilor noştri” spune el. 

Apoi a iniţiat un program complex de ajutor pentru femeile însărcinate, multe ele respinse de societate, dar şi pentru mamele care nu-şi pot permite un copil. Datorită lui, mai mult de 2000 de copii au fost salvaţi de la moarte.

VOLGOGRAD, Russia, October 18, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) - An Orthodox priest in the Volgograd (formerly Stalingrad) region of Russia has been commended by the Russian Ministry of Health for his work in reducing the number of abortions in his district. His personal efforts in counseling and helping women to keep their babies has reduced the abortion rate in the Volgograd region by 25 percent over the past five years.

Father Alexis Tarasov began his life saving work in his own parish in the town of Voljsk, where he said he spent hours talking with women who were considering abortion. He expanded his pro-life work with visits to the local hospital. Then, he and other like-minded priests, established a crisis pregnancy center.

Fr. Alexis Tarasov helps Russia's women find a better path in life.

With the support of his diocese, he approached the local authorities for help to expand the project.

“The program was approved in 2002 by the administration of Voljsk,” said Father Alexis. “Then the idea developed to create a regional center, with the support of the administration of Volgograd.”

The result was the creation of the Center for the Protection of Motherhood and Childhood, under the supervision the Archangel Raphael Orthodox Medical Society.

According to the Department of Health, more than 2,000 Volgograd women have chosen to abandon their original intention to have an abortion since that time.

Father Alexis explained that the focus of his project is simple: to provide women with trained and sympathetic listeners who will hear their concerns, give them full information on the abortion procedure and its potential effects on her own health and well-being, and offered them the material help they need.

“Quite often, the only thing needed to dissuade a mother from this terrible decision is simply to talk to someone with an open heart,” Father Alexis said.

Natalia Ermishkina, 31, is one of the women that Father Alexis dissuaded from abortion. The young mother said she had lost her room in subsidized housing after being abandoned by the man who promised to marry her and raise their child. Out of desperation, Natalia decided to get rid of the child.

“The psychologist in prenatal listened to me and advised me to speak to Father Alexis,” said Natalia. “I went to him and I do not regret it. I gave birth to Alexandra, and the Center helped me with housing and clothes for the child. I have a daughter, and now begin to believe in and look forward to a better life.”

“Today, all women seeking abortions are sent by gynecologists for consultation with the psychologist working at each prenatal hospital,” said Nikolai Zarkin, head physician of Volgograd’s Central Maternity Hospital № 2.

Zarkin said after these consultations, 20 percent of women refuse abortion and give birth to their children.

Father Alexis has organized help for mothers after their children are born by providing legal aid as well as clothing at the Center for the Protection of Motherhood and Childhood, and looks forward to providing more housing.

“Wherever possible, we strive to help women in need. There is now an acute need for the establishment of more homes for moms who need housing. It is essential to build homes and equip them so that women can live with their children until their housing problem is resolved,” said Father Alexis. “But it is difficult without help from the authorities and, without benefactors, we can not do it.”

Baby bumbs? Why not "baby bumbs"?

September 19, 2012 (LiveActionNews.org) - Or tissue bumps, for that matter? Or even pregnancy bumps? It is telling that the American media continually refers to famous people’s unborn babies as just that - babies. But when these same media outlets discuss abortion or pro-life legislation, it’s all about the fetus. When the media wants everyday citizens to identify with and love celebrities, it proclaims glad news about unborn babies and baby bumps. After all, even our liberal media knows that people – most of us, anyway – love babies. But when the media wants us to keep abortion legal, they resort to references, names, and words that make those same unborn babies sound inhuman.

Has the American media ever considered that, when it advocates for abortion, it advocates aborting the babies in those celebrity “baby bumps”? Does this mean that our media recognizes the fact that unborn babies are indeed living, unique human beings and yet supports killing them anyway? I’d have to say the answer is yes. With all the advances in medicine and technology, specifically, it’s impossible to deny that an unborn baby is a separate human being.

Some liberal columnists have come to the realization that ultrasound imaging has indeed made the humanity of the unborn child undeniable:

… [F]amous pro-choice journalist, Joe Klein, concedes in TIME magazine that ultrasound has changed our understanding of the unborn. It is impossible to deny, he writes, that ‘that thing in the womb,’ he writes, ‘is a human life.’ From the earliest stages. Joe Klein is haunted.

Robert Morrison of Family Research Council has written an insightful article (you should read it) concerning the abortion debate, politics, the media, and the reversal of Roe v. Wade. He points out the hypocrisy of the mainstream media – and liberal politicians – when it comes to the humanity of the unborn:

The mainstream media won’t even call them unborn children. Except if they are the unborn children of an English Duchess. Kate Middleton’s possible pregnancy has excited the tab press. There, it’s OK to talk about a ‘baby bump.’ Or, if the unborn child is expected by a Hollywood starlet.

Babies bump out everywhere. Except in politics. Except in federal court briefs.

My favorite example of this curious avoidance of the truth that everyone knows was a report by the late Peter Jennings. The ABC News Anchor described breakthrough prenatal surgery. ‘The fetus was diagnosed with hydrocephaly, water on the brain. Doctors removed the fetus from the mother’s womb. They put a shunt into the back of the head of the unborn child. They returned the unborn child to the womb, where the mother carried the fetus safely to term.’

Did we follow Peter on that one? Fetus-unborn child-fetus. It all depended on where the human being happened to be located. Within the womb, it was a fetus, outside the womb–even temporarily, even preterm–it was an unborn child.

Sen. John Kerry spoke to the problem liberals have with ‘that thing in the womb.’ In Senate debate on the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, Kerry said we cannot simultaneously regard the fetus as a human being and preserve ‘a woman’s right to choose.’ Kerry voted that the child in the womb is therefore not a human being. It is the same position that state Senator Barack Obama took in Illinois.

So John Kerry – and a host of other politicians and media members – would rather deny actual facts for the sake of blindly supporting an ever-expanding and ill-defined “right” that isn’t actually a right. What? A mother’s right to kill her own child? What civilized society would ever recognize that? Oh, right. Only a society that has gone so far as to deny the truth of science and medicine, brought to our very eyes by amazing technology. Only a society that would reject plain common sense for deceit and convenience. Only a society that would choose convenient lies over the established truth. American society.

So while it may be encouraging on one level to hear the media blither happily on about baby bumps and expected “children,” it’s also extremely discouraging that these same people can so easily support the killing of these same babies. Listen to these comments from the media (emphasis mine):

The 32-year-old former “Girls Next Door” and “Holly’s World” star is expecting her first child…

“Hawaii-Five 0” star Alex O’Loughlin is preparing for baby. On Tuesday, a rep for the actor confirmed to Access Hollywood that Alex is expecting a child with his girlfriend…

With less than two months until Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi baby boy is due to arrive, the first-time mom is feeling the pressure…

But when the mother wants an abortion, the baby is often demoted to fetus status. Demotion to fetus status means one thing: you are ripe for killing. Does it really make women feel better to know that our children are called “babies” and “children” when we want them, but “fetuses,” “products of conception,” and “tissue” when we don’t want them? Do we really need a cover like that to exercise our true rights? I think not. I know not. As a woman, I reject the cover of lies that the mainstream media and liberal politicians continually use on us.

Women, when you have an abortion, you are killing your baby. Yes, your baby. No matter how many ways the media and politicians try to spin the truth, we know as women that the babies growing inside us are our own children. Children who deserve nothing but our love and protection – no matter how they were conceived.

Campania "40 de zile pentru viaţă" în Canada - în 18 orașe din 7 provincii

În Canada, campania „40 de zile pentru viaţă” va depăşi recordurile anterioare cu privire la numărul de oraşe participante. În acest an s-au înscris optsprezece oraşe din şapte provincii pentru a se ruga permanent în faţa clinicilor pentru avorturi şi pentru a pune capăt sacrificării unora dintre cei mai tineri membri ai familiei.

În 2008 campania „40 de zile pentru viaţă” s-a organizat pentru prima dată în Canada, în două oraşe, Ottawa şi Halifax. Pe parcursul celor patru ani campania a luat amploare.

Evenimentul „40 de zile pentru viaţă” se desfăşoară în perioada 26 septembrie – 4 noiembrie.

40 Days for Life Canada campaign to be a record smasher: 18 locations in 7 provinces

OTTAWA, Ontario, 17 September, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Canada’s upcoming 40 Days for Life campaign will smash previous records for number of cities participating. Eighteen cities in seven provinces have signed up to pray, fast, and witness 24/7 in front of abortion clinics to end the slaughter of the youngest members of the human family.

40 Days for Life first came to Canada in 2008 in two cities, Ottawa and Halifax. Now, four years later, it has grown by leaps and bounds. The 40 Days for Life campaign runs from September 26 to November 4.

“This is the most we’ve ever had and I think the first time we’ve gone double digits,” said Wanda Hartlin, assistant coordinator for 40 Days for Life in Ottawa, to LifeSiteNews.

The campaign was named after the numerous examples in the Bible where God brought about powerful change in human history in the space of 40 days. The earth was transformed by rains and floods for 40 days while Noah was in the ark. God gave his people the Ten Commandments only after Moses was on the mountain for 40 days. Jesus began his public ministry after fasting in the desert for 40 days.

David Bereit, founder of 40 Days for Life, told youths at the Campaign Life Coalition Youth Conference last year that abortion is the “defining issue of our generation.” It is with abortion, he said, that the struggle between “good and evil, between light and dark, between heaven and hell” becomes most evident.

Hartlin said that abortion destroys human persons who are “needed pieces of God’s masterpiece puzzle.”

“When someone is born, a puzzle piece is filled in. When a child is aborted, there is a gap in the puzzle that will never be filled. Our goal for the 40 Days for Life is to pray and fast to end abortion because every human life is a precious gift from God and a special someone who has a purpose. We want every baby in the womb to be born alive.”

Hartlin said that praying for the period of 40 days “keeps awareness alive” in Canada where pre-born children have existed in a legal vacuum since 1988 when the Supreme Court of Canada struck down Canada’s abortion law.

“The abortion issue will never go away as long as babies are dying,” she said.

Mary Ellen Douglas, Ontario President of Campaign Life Coalition told LifeSiteNews that “prayer and action” are the two links that have kept Canada’s pro-life movement going for more than 30 years.

“You can’t have one without the other. You can’t have prayer without the action. Action is needed to get people moving and to keep the pro-life movement a ‘movement’. And you can’t have action without prayer. Prayer is needed to begin the action on the right foot.”

Douglas called 40 days For Life a “very good event” because it “starts people to pray and includes the action of witnessing at abortion clinics. It is prayer and action working together.”

Douglas said that Canadian participants in the 40 Days for Life campaign this year will have added urgency to their prayers as the abortion debate heats up with conservative MP Steven Woodworth’s Motion 312 heading to Parliament. The motion would establish a special committee to examine the humanity of the unborn child.

Since 2007, there have been ten coordinated 40 Days for Life campaigns that have mobilized people of faith and conscience in 440 cities across the world. More than half a million people have participated in the campaigns.

Over 5900 babies have been officially documented as being saved from abortion. A documented 69 abortion workers have quit their jobs and walked away from the abortion industry. The campaigns have seen 24 abortion clinics permanently shut down.

Încercare de avort, încercare de infaticid şi apoi o minune a lui Dumnezeu

De ce oare trebuie Dumnezeu să se lupte cu părinții pentru a apăra viața copiilor? Permanent există opțiunea încredințării unui copil spre adopție în cazul în care părinții consideră, adevărat sau nu, că nu pot să îl crească; De ce unii nu apelează la ea și cred că singura soluție este să-şi omoare copilul?

Cazul de mai jos este cutremurător: după ce i-a fost refuzat avortul pentru că fetița pe care o purta în pântece era prea mare, după ce părinții nu au făcut nici un fel de pregătiri legate de naștere (probabil sperând că vor ”rezolva problema”), după ce mama și-a pus fetița într-o pungă de plastic, apoi într-o față de pernă pe care a pus-o în aparatul de uscat rufe, așteptând să se sufoce iar soțului spunându-i că s-a născut moartă, acesta a găsit-o, crezând că este o pisică acolo. Viața micuței a fost salvată. Dar oare era nevoie să se lupte atât de mult Dumnezeu cu părinții ei? Oare bunătatea inimii nu ar fi găsit o soluție care să nu ia viața fetiței?

Pe de altă parte, un ofițer de poliție din localitate a declarat că nu a întâlnit așa ceva de 36 de ani. Uimirea lui nu poate însă să acopere ipocrizia și împietrirea sufletească a societății: în acești 36 de ani, câți copii din Henrico, Virginia, au fost acceptați de doctori ca fiind suficient de mici pentru a fi omorâți fără ca nimeni să se declare oripilat de cele întâmplate și să arate cu degetul către mama care a putut să facă aşa ceva?

HENRICO, VA, September 11, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) –  A 39-year-old Virginia woman who wrapped her newborn in a plastic bag, placed it in a pillowcase, then left the girl in a dryer to die had attempted to abort the baby earlier in the pregnancy.

Angela Janecka is accused of attempted murder and felony child abuse.

Angela Janecka from the Richmond suburb of Henrico gave birth to an eight pound baby girl on August 25. After tying the infant securely in a plastic bag, placing the bag in a pillowcase, and leaving the baby inside a dryer to suffocate, she called her husband to say their child had been stillborn, Henrico County Commonwealth attorneys said in court on Monday.

As the father cleaned up the area where she had given birth, he thought he heard a cat inside the appliance but instead discovered his daughter.

In a hearing Monday prosecutors said the couple called their pediatrician’s office, rather than 911. The physician alerted police, who charged Janecka with attempted murder and felony child neglect.

The lawyers revealed the couple had sought an abortion but were turned down because the girl was too far along. They added that the couple’s home showed no signs they had prepared for the child’s birth.

Authorities said the healthy baby girl, who was discovered less than half-an-hour after birth, was rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital and was “doing fine” by the time they turned her over to Child Protective Services, where she remains.

Henrico Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Nancy Oglesby said, “The baby is alive and well, which is the saving grace of all of this.”

“It’s something I haven’t dealt with in 36 years, I can tell you that,” said Henrico Police Captain Jan Stem. “It’s sad.”

The case is not the first time abortion and infanticide made headlines in Virginia. In 2009, a Campbell County woman avoided criminal charges after smothering her newborn, because the umbilical cord was still attached.

Janecka’s lawyer, Nikki M. Clarke, argued in court Monday that her client should be released so she can care for her eight-year-old son.

Henrico Judge Randall Johnson Jr. ordered the mother to remain held without bail pending a hearing on November 16 to determine whether she is competent to stand trial.
